Wide-field magnetometry offers a unique compromise between spatial resolution and measurement time. It enables the rapid quantitative imaging of magnetic fields and fluctuations on the micrometer scale. This includes the detection of defects in magnetic materials for material testing as well as the imaging of spatially distributed alternating fields, for example due to alternating electric currents.
