PTB offers the following services: characterization of ion traps in a room-temperature setup, characterization of integrated nano-optics, evaluation of novel materials, benchmarking of trapped-ion qubits. A full experimental testbed incl. vacuum chamber, electronics and lasers needed for trapping of Yb+ ions will be supplied by PTB. For the device to be tested relevant specifications will be required, i.e. operational wavelength range and damage threshold for nano-optics or electrical specifications for the ion trap to be characterized (RF drive frequency, electrode layout, max. supply voltages etc.). These specifications, facing the currently limited amount of 64 available DC connections and space constraints for ion traps, need to be aligned together with the customer.
